Rob Reiner’s son arrested for double murder

Nick Reiner, the son of Rob Reiner, has been arrested after the beloved director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Nick Reiner to be a suspect in the homicides and is being held on a $4m bail (BBC).

The couple’s youngest daughter, Romy Reiner, is reported to have found her parents’ bodies at their home with multiple stab wounds (CBS News).

Former US president Barack Obama is among the many who’ve paid tribute, saying “beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people” (Variety).

Reiner, who was 78, directed films including This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride and A Few Good Men (NYTimes).
